What's up world?

I have been quite peace for the past couple of weeks, things have been unfolding nicely... I played a pops concert at the church on Thursday (sax) and then on Sunday I sat in with the South Florida Youth Symphony at their last concert. The Youth Symphony concert was fun but intense. I didn't get the music until a week before (and there was alot of music), I because of the pops concert I had to divide my attentions. I wound up sight reading three of the pieces on stage at the concert just because of my lack of practice time. It was still a great concert though, there are a lot of talented kids in the group. It's easy to be humbled when your surrounded by a bunch of high school kids on their way to virtuosity, but its also encouraging to see that although the arts are dying (as far as school and state support goes) there are still far from dead.

I'm also looking forward to the Jubilate (Yoo-buh-lah-tay) summer music camp coming up next month. I'll be a student teacher for spoken word (we'll see how that goes)I'm still unsure about my whole role and procedure but I do know that I will be working with some great people. I also just got confirmed to volunteer and help with the American Black Film Festival being held down here (well down there in Miami) in July. That's one where I just completely don't know what to expect but trust I will keep you posted.

Aight I gots to bounce, I'm about to be late for work (almost two months and I still haven't burned down the kitchen!

Holla back ya'll

Get on my level (WHAT?!?) Get on my level (WHAT?!?!)

Aight, so it's been good. Finished the semster strong, starting off the summer the same way, I got up this morning and hit the treadmill (and my instruments!) I'm back to eating at least two meals a day, found somebody to twist my hair up for free, this weekend I'm going back to the keys. AND I might be joining a jazz group AND I found out I'm going to London in October! What! Somebody upstairs is holding it down for a brutha! Speaking off which, I've been making a lot of personal spiritual headway as well. Life is just good, and its still looking up, even the money situation is about to tighten up. So, till school starts, or till the next thing comes up,

....Sigh....

That should be a sigh a relief, but right now I don't know what it is... An hour from now I will officially be done with the spring semester at Florida Memorial College (aka Flo Mo). It's been a completely awesome semester, but I'm ready to put my feet up. I need to stop learning new stuff and start absorbing and working out what I've been learning for the past five months. This summer is going to be dedicated to saving money, practicing and writing (both lyrically & musically). I already have some great opportunities opening up, we'll see how they all unfold though... till then....

....yeah its a short post, but it's a post right?
